If You Don’t Have Great Enemies, Then You Have Never Fought for Anything That Mattered
I was deep in my challenges and issues this month. I was going crazy. If you ask me how I was doing, I would have told you: it’s a roller coaster! The troughs are crazy low, and the peaks are crazy high! While that is well and good, and it is also extremely authentic, the language also hid a deeper Truth. Right now I’m getting my ass kicked. And, the villain doing the ass kicking? Old Bill, old software, old b.s. that was doing its thing (which in my system, it is not evil or stupid, in fact, quite the opposite, it is doing its damnedest to protect me from OTHER villains in my life – the REAL villains, the ones I should be waging war with.)
But the Old Bill software has weathered many storms and thinks it’s quite wise in its ways. Meh… I am not so sure. That it means well, I get, and still, to climb my Indian Peaks dream, or Mt. Everest, or Red Bull capsule (a tool that YOU MUST KNOW – it is called The Third Map – if you don’t, write or call me for it.) …
It simply cannot get in my way.
Which brings us to the subject line of today’s Demystify. The deep Truth of my challenges is that I DO have some bad guys arrayed against me right now. It is scary. Can I win? Will I win? Do I HAVE THE WILL to win? Three crucial questions, all in alignment with the villain that I face. And so, I came across this version of a popular saying:
If You Don’t Have Great Enemies, Then You Have Never Fought for Anything That Mattered.
And this fight I am in – it matters. So I take heart that I am doing the right things. As a leader, we all face down our fears, face down our limitations, and once more, fight into the breach. Don’t ask for weaker enemies. Ask for a stronger You! Ask for a stronger team! Carry yourself with the heart of a champion, and whether you win or not, you will win! Only death can stop you from your end game.
With the heart of a champion!
With great enemies!
Doing the right things that matter!
You will WIN!
